It is hard to find a good coffee house creation with an almond milk base. Probably because the texture of the milk is not perfect for frothing. But, in our opinion, the nutty flavor is just right to pair with espresso-based drinks. Thankfully, almond milk does steam nicely. Steamed milk is less bubbly and is used in lattes and flat whites. Starbucks knows this and has recently added a great almond milk drink to its menu. In this article, we will teach you how to make a Starbucks almond milk honey flat white copycat using your Keurig® brewer! Plus, we will tell you which K-Cup® coffee pods to choose to mimic the espresso taste.
Tip: Top with cinnamon or cocoa powder for added flavor!
Keurig® brewers can not make true espresso. However, there are a few K-Cup® pods that will mimic the espresso taste perfectly. Cafe Bustelo and Green Mountain Dark Magic are our first choices, followed closely by Lavazza Perfetto. The trick is to always brew these espresso-style pods on the lowest setting of your coffee maker to ensure a deep, rich flavor.
The Starbucks version has about 170 calories in a grande. The good news, our homemade almond milk honey flat white only has about 75! That calculation is based on one cup of unsweetened vanilla almond milk and 1 tsp. of honey.
About 125 grams. Our copycat version contains about the same amount depending on which coffee you choose to use.
